FRIDAY - DRESS DOWN
DAYS
Did you know that you can wear a T-Shirt on Fridays?
Yes, in exchange, you have to bring 3 cans of food for the Food
Pantry. This helps us to help others and you're a happy
camper too. It's a win-win. Note: You can't
wear just any T-shirt though, it has to be either a Pro-Team or a Christian
T-shirt.
EVERYONE BRING ONE
Join
the “Everyone Bring One Campaign”.
We are trying to use our students and parents as our
ambassadors. Tell your friends and family about Westside.
Everyone of our kids probably have friends that are unhappy in
the public school system. Introduce them to Westside and lets
see how we can grow. WCS offers recognition for those who share their school.
CAR POOLS
Interested in carpooling? It's a time saver and a gas
saver too.
We have parents/students that want to carpool. Contact the
office if you're interested and we'll hook you up.
UNIFORMS
Parents,
please bring any uniforms your child has outgrown to the
school. Often there are new students that could use the help
with uniforms. We have a box in the back, that we keep clean
used uniforms in. They will be appreciated.
VOLUNTEER HOURS
PARENTS ~ We can always use your help.
We are blessed to have our children in a great school, but to
keep costs down, we signed on to volunteer 10 hours per student.
Here are some areas that you can volunteer your time for:
Lunchroom Duty
~ There is always a great need to have a parent in the lunchroom from
11:00 a.m. - 12: noon every day. Many times, teachers have
foregone their lunch break because they are with the students that
whole time. If you can do 1 day a week or a month, that would be
a great help. Contact the school office to schedule your
time.
Additionally, as more volunteer opportunities arise, we'll post them here.
AFTERCARE
Children should be picked up at school by
3:00pm. At 3:10pm, any child that has not been picked up will
be sent to aftercare. Once your child is in aftercare, you will
be charged. We cannot have children roaming the building, nor
can we have them roaming the property. Aftercare is only for
children up to 8th grade. Those who are not registered for
aftercare but must wait in the aftercare room will be
charged $10.00 per hour, for any portion of that hour. The
charge will be placed on your school bill.
Please pick up your child promptly. If there is
an emergency and you will late, please call the school office.
HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS BE AWARE!!
You must NOT have
more then five absences if you want to exempt any exam in high
school this year. Remember also that three times late make an
absence.
STUDENTS ARRIVING LATE
Parents, please get your students here
before 8:25. If they are late it counts as a tardy and three of
these count as an absence.
Please make it a point to get here earlier.
STUDENT DRIVERS
Please remember that
driving is a privilege. If at any time you are seen to be
driving recklessly or speeding you will no longer drive or park
on campus.
All students must enter and exit through the back entrance. You
are not to drive through Westside Center at all, unless you have
business there. If you are seen, by any parent or teacher, breaking this rule you will no longer be
allowed to drive to school.
MISCONDUCT
All employees and agents of a public school district, charter
school or private school have an obligation and legal
responsibility to report misconduct by instructional personnel
and school administrators which affects the health, safety or
welfare of a student.
If you know of misconduct, do the right thing and tell someone.

Inspirational
Here's a link to a
website site that makes it fun and easy for believers to pray
the scriptures over the needs that face them and others.
You choose the
topic, and they'll provide some on-target scriptures to help you
blaze a trail in prayer. Then you pick a photo, add a
personal note and someone gets blessed with prayer and an ecard
that says, you care. It's cool, it's fun, it's powerful, and
it's free.
If you have a need,
or know someone who does, here's the fuel you need to pray up a
storm. We wanted to pass
on the blessing to you. You'll love this!
